DUI Taskforce Out This Weekend in Haverford

Roving DUI Patrols will be conducted in six local municipalities.


The Northern Delaware County DUI Taskforce will be conducting roving DUI patrols during the weekend of Friday, May 24 in Haverford Township.

The taskforce covers five municipalities in addition to Haverford—Marple, Newtown, Radnor, Springfield and Upper Darby townships.

It has been in operation since September 2009 and has conducted 40 operations, according to a press release from Haverford Police Department.

The taskforce has arrested 81 drivers for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs, issued 29 citations for underage drinking, 468 citations and 546 warnings for other motor vehicle violations, the press release states.

All the naysayers, DUI is no kidding matter. Are you going to stop people from drinking and driving and risking people's lives ?????

I agree @bigben ! If you want to drink ... Don't drive! If you want to eliminate DUI checkpoints ....,drink responsibly...

People go though stop sign and speeding on west Chester pike in the mourning and still texting I like to see this stop.
