Theft: Copper gutters were stolen from Saunders Woods in Gladwyne sometime between April 30 and May 31, police said. Police said the manager of the preserve noticed the copper downspouts and reported 60 feet of them were missing from the barn.

Theft: A 9-foot by 5-foot banner was stolen overnight between May 31 and June 1 from the 800 block of Summit Grove Avenue in Bryn Mawr, police said. The banner read “Spring Fling” and was worth about $400, police said.

Theft: A wallet containing cash and credit cards was reported stolen from the Bryn Mawr Car Wash on May 31, police said. A security camera reveals a customer taking an employee’s wallet, which had been left on a table. Police were unable to identify a suspect.

Disorderly Conduct and Harassment: Granite Run Mall at approximately 10:35 p.m. on May 29. Two white, 19-year-old males, one from Media, the other from Chester were involved in a mutual physical fight outside of the mall, State Police said. Both man proceeded to fight in public and cause a public disturbance, State Police said. A summary non-traffic citation was filed in District Court 32-2-48.

Theft from Motor Vehicle: Elwyn Train Station parking lot between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on May 27. An unknown person removed a catalytic converter from a blue Honda CRV, according to State Police.

Admitted Thief Backs Out on Repayments

Accusing a former employee of stealing from his store, a gas station owner approached Marple Police May 27. Paul Richard, owner of , told police a recently fired employee reneged on a deal to repay stolen money. 

According to information provided by Marple Police, a customer informed Richard that the employee canceled his transaction, set the customer's money aside and eventually pocketed it. Richard told police he consulted surveillance footage, confirmed the accusation, and confronted the employee, who confessed to the act, saying he used the funds to purchase a new car. Police said the employee was taking funds for an undetermined length of time. He was fired May 2.

In a handwritten signed note, police say the employee admitted to the theft and agreed to pay Richard back in $50 weekly installments until the $25,000 was repaid.

However, the employee never paid Richard and filed for unemployment. Police continue to investigate the allegations.

Theft: A resident of the 300 block of East Willow Grove Avenue reported May 22, 12 p.m., that she found her front door unlocked and later found that a pair of sunglasses, a pair of headphones and an external hard drive, valued in total at $210, were missing, police said.

A thirteen-year-old girl stabbed another in the leg at Presbyterian Children’s Village on South Roberts Road in Rosemont Monday evening.

According to Radnor Police, after the two girls had been in an argument one stabbed the other in the leg with a pair of scissors. Police were called to the campus of the home for “troubled teens,” as the Village describes itself, at 7:20 p.m.

The victim was taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital’s Emergency Room, where she was treated and released.

The girl who assaulted her was arrested and charged with simple assault, aggravated assault, harassment, recklessly endangering another person and possession of instruments of a crime.
