$28,000 In Jewelry Stolen From Haverford Home

The residents were away for much of the summer, police said.

An estimated $28,000 in jewelry was stolen from a home on the 300 block of Grays Lane in Haverford sometime in the past few months, Lower Merion police told news media at a briefing on Monday.

The theft was discovered on Sept. 18, about a week after residents returned home from a long vacation, police said. The homeowners had been away from July 26 to Aug. 21, and again from Aug. 27 to Sept. 10, while contractors worked on the house, according to police.

A homeowner realized on Sept. 18 that all the jewelry was missing from the residence.
