Beloved Haverford Volunteer Dies at 79

Funeral services are set for Wednesday morning.

 

Joan Boyle Francis of Havertown passed away on Friday, March 1 at age 79.

According to an obituary on Legacy.com Mrs. Francis had recently worked as a volunteer at the Narberth Food Bank.

According to the obituary "she grew up in West Philadelphia, where she married her husband of almost 50 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She recently worked as a volunteer at the Narberth Food Bank. She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Francis, Jr., son, Richard J. Francis; daughter, Rebecca M. Heard (Robert), grandchildren; Shawn, Joe and Tony."


A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday evening from 7-9 at the Stretch Funeral Home in Havertown.

A funeral preceded by a second viewing from 9:30-10:15 is planned for Wednesday morning at Annunciation BVM Church, Brookline Blvd, Havertown. it will be followed a her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at. SS Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield.

The family suggest that in lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Narberth Food Bank, c/o United Methodist Church, 206 Price Ave, Narberth, Pa. 19072 and/or to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St, West Chester, Pa. 19380
