Always An Adventure When We Eat Out With The Kids

Now that summer is in full swing we have begun to eat out more and more, especially now that we are on vacation. I have to admit, it had brought its share of challenges. The first night we were here, the restaurant we chose was not too crowded but there was a line to be seated.

We got in line like good little customers do but there had to be that one person that throws a wrench in the works. She started insisting that she had been waiting longer and let her feelings known by complaining loudly to the hostess, who I have to give her a lot of credit, just ignored her. She knew just who walked in and was willing to assist in that order.

I don’t think I could have been that patient. After that show, we were seated. At that point my youngest had to go to the bathroom. The waitress then comes and we placed our order, very simple, pizza and drinks, which took forever and a day.

At that point the restaurant got super crowded and the kids got super impatient. After another round of drinks and plates of free popcorn we were served our pizza. At that point another one of my children had to go to the bathroom. Once we get back, I can then eat my slices of pizza. We finished our meal and then had to wait for the waitress to come back and decide if we wanted dessert. The kids wanted ice cream. No small feat for my crew because two of my three kids only like vanilla and the other has a peanut allergy.

After a few more plates of free popcorn, the waitress came back, filled with apologies. She said it was difficult to get through the restaurant because there was a big table blocking her way, at least that is what I think she said, it was very loud in there. After a quick discussion about the ice cream, not safe, it was determined that we would get ice cream elsewhere.

We finally paid the check and headed out. We discussed that fact that we had a great time and couldn’t wait to go back again.
