Join Us for the Freedom from Fracking Conference!
When: Thursday, September 26 2 pm-8 pm; Free!Lunch: 1 pm Lunch by Weavers Way, $10 (register and pay ahead!)
Where: Friends Center, 1501 Cherry St., Philadelphia PA 19107
Do you want to learn how fracking impacts communities?
What are the health effects many have suffered and may suffer?
What are economic costs we all may have to pay?
How do pipelines and compressor stations affect the air we breathe?
Pennsylvania: Why do we need a drilling moratorium?
Philadelphia: Why is a liquified natural gas (LNG) facility in Philadelphia a very bad
idea? How dangerous is Bakken Shale oil traveling by train right
through Philadelphia? Why did a natural gas liquids pipeline explode in
August 2012, and why is a similar pipeline heading for the Delaware
River now?
Protecting Our Waters, Delaware Riverkeepers Network, Clean Air Council, PennEnvironment, and Berks Gas Truth have organized the Conference. Over 40 endorsing organizations.
Keynote speaker: John Fenton is a farmer and rancher whose drinking water was impacted by fracking in Pavillon, Wyoming, where fracking began long before shale gas development came to PA. This may be a good way to learn what is coming our way.
