Winter Weather Advisory Issued As Snow Hits Area

Area might get 1 to 3 inches of snow.

As the snow hits the area, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory.

Area roads may become slippery as the snow comes down, where a possible 1 to 3 inches of accumulation is expected, warns the NWS and NBC 10.

There is a 40 percent chance of rain and snow before 2 p.m. Saturday and then turning to rain between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., and then changing back to snow and  rain after 4 p.m., with a high of near 38 degrees for Saturday, states the NWS.

For Saturday night, there is a 30 percent chance of snow before 10 p.m. and then stopping, with a night time low of 21 degrees, the NWS states, adding that strong Northwest winds may blow between 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

For Sunday, partly sunny skies are expected, but a breezy west wind between 17 to 24 mph is expected, with gusts as high as 36 mph, predicts the NWS, with a high of near 34 degrees.
