Tornado, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings End in Area

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning following an earlier tornado warning for the area Tuesday afternoon

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning following an earlier tornado warning for Delaware County and specifically Lima, Tuesday afternoon. 

The tornado warning ended at 1 p.m. and severe thunderstorm warning at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. 

A tornado was predicted to pass Lima at 12:55 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. There was no word if a tornado was actually spotted.

The National Weather Service radar indicated a tornado near Boothwyn around 12:45 p.m., moving northeast at 25 miles per hour. 

A tornado was predicted to be near Parkside and Chester by 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The safest place to be during a tornado is in a basement. If you don't have a basement, the lowest floor of a building, an interior hallway or closet are also safe places. Use blankets or pillows to cover yourself and stay away from windows.
