Thanksgiving Forecast: A Wet Wednesday, Then Clear Skies

After Wednesday, the holiday weekend should be warm and dry, says the National Weather Service.

Like the relatives many of us will be spending time with over the next few days, the weather forecast for the holiday weekend is a mixed bag.

After a warm, wet Wednesday (a high of 60 degrees with a 90 percent chance of rain) the National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for a high of 53 degrees on Thanksgiving day, with sunny skies and 7 to 9 mph winds. Overnight, temperatures should fall to 38 degrees with winds between 3 and 7 mph.

On Friday it should be sunny, with a high approaching 58 degrees, while by nightfall temperatures will drop to 39 degrees with mostly clear skies.

Saturday is projected to be mostly sunny with a high of 61 degrees with an evening low of 43 with cloudy skies.

On Sunday, the NWS is calling for partial sunshine and a high near 60 degrees. Overnight, temperatures should drop to 47 degrees with a 30 percent chance of precipitation.
