October Snow Hits Area

Up to 5 inches of snow possible, states the National Weather Service.

It may say October and fall on the calendar, but that is not stopping Mother Nature from blanketing Havertown and the rest of the area in snow.

For Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for a 100 percent chance of rain and snow and turning into snow after 2 p.m., with a high near 39 degrees.

"(A) total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible," the NWS states, adding that there might be a breezy northeast wind blowing between 18 and 22 mph.

Come Saturday night, there is a 90 percent chance of snow mainly before midnight, with a low of around 34 degrees, states the NWS. And a possible snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches.

Come Sunday, the NWS is calling for sunny skies with a high near 43 degrees.
