NWS Issues Tornado Watch for Friday Night Into Saturday Morning

The tornado watch will last until 2 a.m., Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado watch until 2 a.m., Saturday, for Delaware, Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

With severe thunderstorms being predicted for Friday evening through Saturday morning, the NWS has also issued a flash flood watch for those same counties. The watch is until Saturday morning.

"A cold front will cross the region (from Friday night and early Saturday morning) and will produce widespread showers and thunderstorms," the NWS stated. "Rainfall amounts between 1 and 1.5 inches will be common. Greater amounts, up to 2.5 inches, will be possible in the stronger storms."
