NWS: Flood Watch For Delaware County

A flood watch has been issued from Friday morning until Saturday afternoon.

A flood watch has been issued for Friday morning until Saturday afternoon, with an expected more than 3 inches of rain is possible, the National Weather Service (NWS) stated.

The NWS stated that with a strong chance of heavy rains and thunderstorms for Friday through Saturday afternoon, a flood watch has been issued for Delaware, Montgomery and Chester counties, as well as surrounding counties in the area.

The already rain-soaked grounds in the region may not be able to contain the coming downfall, the NWS stated.

“The ground remains soggy and wet from the heavy rains that occurred earlier this month with limited absorption capacity,” the NWS warned.

For Friday, showers and a thunderstorm are likely, which may produce rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible, the NWS predicted. The high might be near 75 degrees.

Friday evening may bring more showers and a thunderstorm, with a possible low of 65 degrees, predicted the NWS. Rainfall amounts maybe up to an inch.

Rain showers and a chance of a thunderstorm, with a high near 77, are the predictions for Saturday, with rainfall amounts maybe up to an inch, the NWS stated.
