Hurricane Irene Brings Adoption Specials at SPCA

Through Sunday the Delco SPCA is offering "hurricane" adoption specials for its animals.

With Hurricane Irene heading up the East Coast and right for our area, the is offering "hurricane" adoption specials through Sunday.

The cats and kittens at the SPCA are in desperate need of adoption since the facility is at capacity and may need to euthanize for space, a last resort but a harsh reality when involved with animal control, according to Director of Community Relations at the SPCA Justina Calgiano.

The shelter will offer reduced "hurricane" specials through Sunday. All adult cats (6 months and older) will be free to good homes and kittens will be $50. All adult dogs (6 months and older) will be 50 percent off. The 50 percent off applies to dogs on current specials, such as the shelter’s Summer Lovers, a $20.11 and $30 Thursday. Through the Hurricane special, these dogs will be a $10.05 adoption fee and a $15 adoption fee, respectively.
