Time to get out and have some fun.

It's that time of the week again. Right before you dive into your weekend planning, Patch is here to offer up some suggestions about great local events to check out in Haverford Township and surrounding communities.

  • Why Go: “Feast your eyes on delicious artwork of all mediums inspired by desserts.  The exhibition is juried for prizes by  Patrick Gauthron of Aux Petit Delices, former pastry chef for Le Bec Fin. ’”
  • Pricing: Free

Roundtable Discussion on Egypt at Haverford College 

  • Where/When: , Friday, Feb. 18, 12 p.m.
  • Why Go: Hear some of Haverford College's top professors discuss the current events in Egypt and the Middle East to better understand the unique developments in that area.
  • Pricing: Free

Celebrate the Presidents

Find out what's happening in Haverford-Havertownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • Why Go: “The National Constitution Center will celebrate our country’s 44 Commanders in Chief throughout Presidents Day weekend. Programs include 'Hail to the Chief' quiz game, and 'Meet the Presidents,' where visitors can meet historic presidential re-enactors and snap a photo or two.”
  • Pricing: 12 and up is $12; under 12 is $8; 65 and over, $11; Presidential programs are free with museum admission 

 

  • Where/When: , Sunday, Feb. 20, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: “Will we find inspiration with a tour of the exhibition 'There's Always Room for Dessert,' then go to the studio for the hands-on art activity. Join us for a fun-filled good time, learning the craft of paper marbling and creating your own brilliantly decorative papers from ordinary household items!”
  • Pricing: $15 M/$35 NM (covers 1 adult/child pair)

 

  • Where/When: , Sunday, Feb. 20, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: “Historical figure, Ned Hector, a free black colonial soldier, a wagoneer, respected patriot and hero will make a visit to the Haverford Township Free Library. ”
