Forecast: Friday Begins a New Heat Wave On The Main Line

Highs of 92 or 93 are expected for the next seven days.

After several days of relatively moderate summer warmth, Friday should begin a week of 90-degree-plus heat for the Haverford Township, the National Weather Service (NWS) predicted in a forecast Thursday evening.

Friday's predicted high is 93 degrees, with a possible heat index (perceived temperature) around 100. There is a 30 to 40 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms, with a predicted nighttime low of 76.

According to an NWS Heat Advisory, Friday should be hottest between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The next six days, Saturday through Thursday, continue the pattern: a high of 92 or 93, a low in the mid-70s. No precipitation and little wind is in the NWS forecast during that time.
