Delco SPCA To Celebrate 100 Years

Tickets are still available for this event that includes all kinds of auction items.

will celebrate 100 years of service on Thursday at Villanova.

The SPCA will celebrate the milestone from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Montrose Mansion at the Villanova Conference Center.

Tickets to the event are $100 and include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and a silent and live auction. All proceeds from the night will go toward animal boarding and veterinary care at the SPCA and fund the non-profit’s no-kill mission by funding preventative programs, low-cost vet clinics, humane investigations and education.

Some of the auction items include a week-long rental of a seven-bedroom home in Aspen, box seats at the Wells Fargo Center, 14-carat gold and three-strand pearl necklace, Eagles and Diamond Club Phillies tickets, private shooting lessons, a ride on a piper cub and many other items.

The honorary chairwoman for the night is Heidi Hamels, wife of Phillies Pitcher Cole Hamels. Dawn Timmeney, NBC 10 news anchor and host of "Dawn’s Pet Project" will emcee.

Dr. Michael Moyer, rosenthal director of Shelter Animal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and the owner of Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital, will receive the prestigious Animal Welfare Leadership Award and WMGK 102.9 morning talk show host John DeBella will receive the Delco SPCA’s Animal Welfare Humanitarian Award.
