Delco SPCA Offers Free Rabies Vaccines Wednesday

In honor of World Rabies Day, the Delco SPCA is offering free vaccines at two clinics this week.

The will offer 25 free rabies vaccines at two of its upcoming vaccination clinics in honor of World Rabies Day on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at PetKraze in Chadds Ford, low-priced $20 microchips and reduced-priced vaccines will be available. The first 25 customers will also receive free Rabies vaccines. PetKraze is located at 291 Wilmington West Chester Pike.

On Monday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. the Delco SPCA in Media will offer its final low-cost vaccination clinic of the year. The first 25 customers will also receive free Rabies vaccines. Regularly low-priced microchips will also be available at this clinic for $35.

Other reduced priced vaccines offered at both clinics include Bordetella, Canine and Feline Distemper, Canine Flu, De-wormer, Feline Leukemia and Lyme vaccines. Rabies vaccine will be available at a fee after the first 25 are given away. Vaccinations range from $10 to $20.

World Rabies Day takes place on Sept. 28, the anniversary of the death of Louis Pasteur, who, with the collaboration of his colleagues, developed the first efficacious rabies vaccine. World Rabies Day aims to raise awareness about the impact of rabies on humans and animals, provide information and advice on how to prevent the disease, and how individuals and organizations can help eliminate the main global sources.
