Daily Forecast: Air Quality Warning, Possible Thunderstorm

A Code Orange air quality alert was issued for Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has issued a Code Orange air quality alert for the Philadelphia Metro Area. Effective today, the Code Orange means that air pollution levels may become high enough to cause problems for children, the elderly, and people with various illnesses.

During the alert, it’s recommended that people avoid outdoor exertion.

As for the rest of the forecast, during the day, it will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high of 92 degrees and a light breeze. In the evening, the temperature will drop to 71 degrees, and there is a 50 percent chance of showers and a thunderstorm. The storm would likely start after 8 p.m. and could include hail and heavy wind gusts.
