Air Quality Alert Issued

The air pollution concentrations may not be good for certain groups, the National Weather Service warns.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a code orange air quality alert because air pollution concentrations may become unhealthy for some groups of people as the temperature may reach 95 degrees by Tuesday afternoon.

Some of these groups, or “sensitive groups” as the NWS is calling them, are children, people with asthma, heart disease or lung diseases and the elderly.

“The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors,” the NWS stated.

The NWS also issued a warning for Wednesday afternoon and evening, as there is another chance of a heat advisory. In addition, Wednesday may also see a few thunderstorms that may create strong gusts of winds and hail, according to the NWS.
