Main Line Art Center Unveils New Professional Artist Members

Main Line Art Center looks to the New Year as they announce the new list of Professional Artist Members for 2014.  Selected by jurors Sharon Ewing, Director of Gross McCleaf Gallery (Philadelphia), and Shawn Murray, Owner of Twenty-Two Gallery (Philadelphia), the artists include painters, photographers, sculptors, and mixed media artists from the Greater Philadelphia area.

The Professional Artist Member Program was developed three years ago to help support and promote the artistic careers of a select group of Main Line Art Center Members.  Professional Artist Members are eligible for group or solo shows as part of the Center’s Exhibitions in the Community Series, as well as the Center’s annual Professional Artist Members Exhibition.  Through the 2-year membership term, the artists are promoted through the Art Center’s Facebook page and website as well as given access to professional development training, critique seminars, and discounted rates with partners Inliquid and Heavy Bubble.  The Professional Artist Member program seeks to increase the artists’ exposure to Main Line collectors, curators, and designers while developing a supportive community of professional artists from around the Philadelphia region.

& Bubbly, on Friday, January 10 from 6 to 8 pm where the community can meet the artists and purchase unique works of art. The gallery at Main Line Art Center is free and open to the public Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm, and Friday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Main Line Art Center is a welcoming and inclusive creative home where everyone is encouraged to create, experience, and discover the value of art.  Committed to making art more accessible, the Art Center has over 75 years of experience presenting art programs for individuals of all ages and abilities, including a unique series of outreach programs for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities, at-risk youth, and low income families.  Throughout the year, Main Line Art Center presents innovative, contemporary art exhibitions in their award-winning gallery, as well as exhibitions that celebrate the community.  Last year over 16,000 people chose Main Line Art Center as their home for creativity.
