New Quarry Center Lowe's Seeks Workers

The hiring sign is up as the home improvement store gears up for a May opening.

The hiring sign is up along the fence outside the new Lowe's Home Improvement center at the Quarry Center.

The sign directs interested people to the Lowe's website. The specific page for the new Havertown store lists 33 positions ranging from office to plumbing to millwork to sales and many other jobs.

The new Lowe's on Township Line/Route 1 at West Chester Pike/Route 3 is expected to open in May. The other anchor store in the Quarry Center is Giant Food which is scheduled to open Wednesday morning.

This is a news story? You didn't bother to call someone at Lowe's just to get a quote or a commissioner about how many jobs the entire center is expected to bring in? And you know, there are four Havertown runners at the Boston Marathon. You know, the place that got bombed this afternoon? Man, I miss the old Patch.

What's the deal with the "rumor" going aorund that this store can not open due to floor problems, and sinking from the old quarry?

Does anyone know a true story about this, if there even is a story, or just a complete rumor?
