Moms Eat Local: Testa's Bakery

Find out how kid-friendly Testa's Bakery in Havertown is.

Moms know how tough it can be to eat out with little ones. Patch wants to help you know before you walk in the door if Testa's Bakery is a good place to eat with your children. Make a note that this bakery has Irish soda bread and Irish potatoes for St. Patrick's Day.

Restaurant:

Is there a kids’ menu? Not officially but what kid doesn't loved baked treats?

Are there healthy options on the kids’ meal?

They sell pizza dough so that you can make pizzas at home. This is a cost effective and kid-approved event. I have bought dough from pizza shops and gone to the grocery store and picked up some tomato sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni for a homemade pizza party with my nieces and nephews and they have loved it. You also have more control over how the pizza is being made. You can opt for low-fat or part-skim cheese, low sodium meats, or fresh vegetables.

How does the restaurant deal with food allergies? Alert the staff of your allergy and they will steer you towards items you can eat.

Is the restaurant so quiet that any childish outburst will draw attention or is there enough noise that a small cry is likely to go unnoticed? Kids are more than welcome here.
