Lisa Ferraro Klinge is the owner and creator of Taste

Business:  Taste Artisanal Market

Location:  The products are produced in West Chester at the Artisan Exchange

Year in Business: About three years

What is Taste:

Taste is a line of cheese spreads and there is a line of infused honey too. Lisa originally had a cheese shop in Delaware (which has since closed) and the spreads were doing so well that she decided to focus on them. She started doing wholesale and will soon open online, as well. Some of the recipes are her grandmother's recipes, like the marinated asiago. She just has a love for food and a love for feeding people. You can use the spreads and honey in so many different ways, you can snack on them or cook with them too.

What's in Season:
Seasonal pestos and the tapenades are coming this fall. The honey comes from local farmers and we infuse it and it can be paired with cheeses. But you can use honey anyway really, my favorite way is over ice cream.

Most Popular Item:
Our claim to fame is the Marinated Asiago spread. It's a spread that you can put on bread, crackers or put it in pasta, salads or omelets. It's cheese but it's oil based, so anything that you would use with cheese and oil, you can throw it in.

Best Part of Farmers Market:
Getting to socialize with the customers and interacting with them face-to-face. We can get their feedback. They will tell you if they love something or how to tweak things. It's their reactions that are great. They will come back and tell us about new recipes they've used so it's always really fun. The customers always make the farmers market.

Shameless Plug:
Artisan Exchange in West Chester and Kennett Square, Lansdowne, Upper Merion, Media and East Goshen farmers markets. Find them on Facebook too and give them a 'Like.'
