Dish and Dabble Opening in Havertown

Creative sisters and working moms Lisa Hasbrouck and Chrissy Kennedy are aiming to "put some fun back" into the "sleepy" town of Havertown.

It's not always easy for adults to relax and get creative these days.

Creative sisters and working moms Lisa Hasbrouck and Chrissy Kennedy are aiming to "put some fun back" into the "sleepy" town of Havertown with Dish and Dabble, which opens at 24 East Eagle Road in September.

The business, kind of a "mid-life crisis," Hasbrouck joked, is letting the women flex their creativity. As for clients, they will come in groups, eat, drink and paint. It's a BYOB, and professional artists will lead the groups in painting.

But it won't be just painting, Hasbrouck told Haverford Patch. They will play around with mediums, perhaps bringing in an aromatherapist or Tarot card reader on occasion. Basically, anything that's fun. It'll be "just a place to get out," she said.

"We want to keep a community feel," said the Havertown native. "Keep it local."

There will be an open house on September 5.
