Bee Pollen, 'Black Irish' Cakes at Oakmont Farmers Market Wednesday

Read what will be for sale at the market this week.

The Oakmont Farmers Market will be open on Wednesday, September 25.

The market is open from 2 to 5:30 p.m. in the Grace Chapel Parking Lot, 1 W. Eagle Road in Havertown.

The farmers market has provided a list of vendors that will be at the market this week and what they will be offering shoppers.

BACKYARD BISON 

Rod will be back at the market with his tasty bison steaks and jerky. We will see him biweekly through the season.

BLUEBERRY HILL FARM

Peg will have tomatoes, red and white potatoes, sweet potatoes, red and yellow watermelon, red, green and yellow peppers, hot peppers, green beans, lima beans, red beets, parsley, basil, and rosemary. As always, she'll have dog treats too!

CONEBELLA FARM

Pam will be back at the market with Conebella's wonderful array of Cheddar and Colby based cheeses, and cheese spreads. We'll see her biweekly through the season. We'll see her biweekly through the season.

FRUITWOOD ORCHARDS HONEY FARM 

This week Mike will  have acorn squash, onions, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, eggplant, green beans, corn, hot and sweet peppers, okra, tomatoes, potatoes, grapes (black, red and green), apples, plums, nectarines, peaches, Bartlett and Asian pears, watermelon, and maybe some cider. Of course, he will have his local honey, honey spreads, bee pollen, and apple butter. 

GOLDEN VALLEY FARMS

Jackie will be at the market this week with an array of organic, shade grown, bird-friendly, and Fair Trade coffees and teas.  To pre-order a coffee or if you have a special request for a grind setting, please call 610-719-0232 or email: sales@goldenvalleyfarms.com

GREAT HARVEST BREAD

Darren is back at the market this week with a selection of his delicious baked goods and breads.

HAVERFORD GUILD OF CRAFTSMEN This week Jeanne Angell will be at the market representing the Haverford Guild of Craftsmen. Jeanne is an accomplished photographer and will have a wide array of her work available. You can get a preview at her website: www.jeanneangellphotography.com. The Guild is at the market biweekly.

LINDENHOF FARM

Axel is now accepting orders for Thanksgiving turkeys. Better hurry,(only nine more weeks.) They are raised them as naturally as possible, outdoors, plenty of grass, local feed, whole wheat and lots of sunshine.  You can order online or come to the market and ask questions and pick up lots of other wonderful farm fresh products.  Axel will have plenty of fresh eggs, fresh chicken, fresh turkey and lots of pork, lamb, duck and beef items this week.

MACDOUGALL'S IRISH VICTORY CAKES 

Deb will be back at the market with her always delicious (and sometimes boozy!) Irish Victory Cakes. This week, MacDougall's will be debuting a NEW FLAVOR ... Black Irish.  This is a mello cocoa confection dipped in Wilbur chocolate - like a rich chocolate beret. Slainte! Deb will be at the market twice monthly through the season.

MY HOUSE COOKIES

Marie will have a variety of sweet and savory baked goods, and more cupcakes! For reservations leave a message @ 610-659-7954 or email marie@myhousecookies.com.

NORTH STAR ORCHARD

Shannon and Alex will be at the market with carrots, beets, kale, broccoli, and other assorted veggies. Fruit selections will include Hosui Asian pears, and a number of fantastic apples including: Rubinette, Adam's Pearmain, Liberty, and "The Evil Queen" (aka Red Royal....a beautiful large red sweet apple!)

PARADOCX VINEYARD

Kelly will be at the market with Paradocx's  locally crafted wines, and famous Paint Cans! Remember to bring your empty cans for a $2 credit toward your purchase this week. She will be at the market biweekly this season.

PURE SCENTS CANDLE COMPANY

Margaret will be at the market this week with her 100% soy wax, hand poured, beautifully scented soy candles. She will be at the market biweekly for the remainder of the season.

SCHAEFFER'S FLOWERS

Denny will be bringing a variety of seasonal flowers, and small and large mixed fall bouquets. This may be her last week for the season, so pick up a bouquet while you still can. 

TASTE ARTISANAL MARKET

Ari will return to the market with a selection of gourmet spreads and cheese accompaniments. We will see her twice monthly through the season.

VERA PASTA

Joe will be bringing us Roman style pizza in mozzarella and tomato. He will also have an assortment of  his fresh pastas, ravioli, gnocchi, and regional sauces.  Stop by to pick up a pound (or five!). To see a complete list of Vera's pastas and sauces, visit: www.verapasta.com
