A Peek Inside the New Haverford Giant

The store opens April 17 in the new Quarry Center. Patch has the story on what you'll see inside.

When the giant new Giant in Haverford's Quarry Center opens on April 17 it will be the first grocery store in the area to feature both a cafe and a gas station.

The 76,000-square-foot store will also employ 275 full- and part-time workers.

When customers walk through the doors of the new store they will take in the vast, perishables hall that includes GIANT’s signature produce, deli, meat, seafood, and bakery departments all complemented by a vibrant décor package.


Havertown customers will also find a variety of new features and amenities both in-store and out. The Beer Garden and Eatery will offer customers a wide variety of eat-in and take-out selections including wraps, salads, subs and Panini sandwiches. GIANT was granted a restaurant liquor license from the Pennsylvanian Liquor Control Board and plans to offer a selection of domestic and imports with an emphasis on craft and specialty beers.

Giant will also offer customers who use the store's loyalty card a discount on gas purchases. According to the store press release, customers will get a 10 cents per gallon discount for every $100 spent in the store.

The grand opening is set for 8 a.m. on April 17.  The store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
