32 Hours in Line for 52 Weeks of Doughnuts

A Springfield man sums up his time in line waiting to be the first customer at the new Havertown Krispy Kreme store.

Timothy Folkomer has a PhD in the sciences but he didn't need a dissertation to sum up his experience waiting in line for 32 hours to be the first customer at the new Krispy Kreme story in Havertown's Manoa Shopping Center.

"Doc" has his business card identifies him, tells Patch he met a lot of nice people.

In fact by the time the store opened for customers at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday (the store's normal opening time from Wednesday forward will be 6 a.m.), he had more than 150 fellow doughnut fans with him in line.

Folkomer was first in line when he arrived on Sunday a little after 10 a.m.. For his patience he gets a coupon book for 52 free dozens of doughnuts.

This is not the first time Folkomer has won free doughnuts for a year from a Krispy Kreme. On Sunday he told Patch the story of the last time he did this.
