Weather Channel Downgrades Friday Snow Event

On Tuesday, the Weather Channel predicted a "significant accumulation" of snow could fall on Friday. But today, the forecast calls for just a few inches.

Don't rush out for your bread and milk just yet.

The Weather Channel's prediction Tuesday that the area could be in for "significant snow" on Friday has been retracted.

The Weather Channel now says there's a 60 percent chance of a snow shower. Accuweather predicts just an inch or two will fall.

But hang on to that scarf and mittens; it will be very cold through the week.

The forecast through Friday calls for temperatures in the low to mid 20s. Overnight lows on Thursday could plunge to 11 degrees.

Things will warm up a tad next week. According to the Weather Channel, highs Tuesday will be in the mid 40s and it could get up to 50 degrees mid week.
