The National Weather Service says there's a winter storm watch in effect for the Havertown and Haverford area.

As of Wednesday night, the forecast for Thursday and Friday is:

  • Thursday A chance of rain and snow before 2pm, then a chance of rain between 2pm and 3pm, then a chance of snow after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Northeast wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

  • Thursday Night Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 14. Wind chill values as low as -1. Blustery, with a northeast wind 15 to 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

  • Friday Snow likely, mainly before 11am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -4. Blustery, with a northwest wind 17 to 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
