Nor'easter Will Blow in Fast and Furious

Close to a foot of snow is possible Wednesday and Thursday, and power outages are possible.

A major coastal storm will hit the area Wednesday night and Thursday, bringing with it snow, ice and high winds.

The Nor’easter will bring about 10 inches of snow and some ice, the National Weather Service said.

The snow will begin Wednesday night, and will change to sleet and freezing rain during the day on Thursday. The precipitation will change back to snow Thursday night, the NWS said.

Both morning and evening commutes on Thursday are likely to be impacted by the storm, the NWS said, adding that, “Travel could be significantly impacted across the region.”

Winds of up to 20 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph are expected on Thursday, and the NWS cautions that those gusts combined with the snow and ice accumulation could lead to power outages.
