Local Sports, TV & Radio Stars at Skatium

A Haverford Middle School student's project brings some big names to Havertown.

It was a star-studded night Friday at the Skatium in Havertown as former Flyer Todd Fedoruk, WIP, Action News and Fox News personalities stopped in to raise money to help fight a serious disease.

The second annual Brendan & Ryan Dixon brought them, and hundreds of local families out to raise money to fund research and treatment of Eosinphillic Esophagitis EE. It's a disease that makes it virtually impossible for the brothers to almost anything except a special liquid formular.

Event organizer Michael Dell, 14, says he learned about the Dixon brothers last year while deciding on a bar mitzvah service project. The first year raised $15,000 for EE research. This year's event was expected to raise even more.
