In the Homestretch, Vet Memorial Seeks Funds

The new Delaware County Veterans Memorial hopes you will help support the project.

 

With just over two months to go before the scheduled dedication, the organization behind the new Delaware County Veterans Memorial is still looking for sponsors to help pay for and maintain the Memorial.

Workers are starting to put the finishing touches on the new Delaware County Veteran's Memorial on West Chester Pike in Edgmont.

According to a report on Marple Newtown Patch the Memorial will be dedicated on May 11.

The article features a video of work being done on the site of the Memorial.

According to the Veterans group's website the dedication ceremonies will feature a keynote speech by former Pennsylvania Governor and former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge. Current Governor Tom Corbett (R-PA) and several other dignitaries includeing U.S. Rep. Pat Mehan (R-PA7) and Benjamin Patton, the grandson of General George Patton are expected to attend.

The organization is still looking for donations to help pay for the memorial. Details about donating, including nine different sponsorship levels are available on the group's website.
