Get Out in Haverford: Full Moon Walk, Early Education Fair and More

Full Moon Walk

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 27 from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
  • Where: Haverford Reserve Darby Rd & College Ave, Haverford
  • Why Go: Join us at the Haverford Reserve as we walk on the trails under the January Full moon and learn about some of the night time happenings of the Reserve. Meet at the Community Recreation and Environmental Center and make sure to wear walking/hiking shoes.
  • Cost: Free

Family Workshop: Game Board

  • When:  Sunday, Jan. 27 at 1:30 p.m.
  • Where: Main Line Art Center 746 Panmure Rd, Haverford
  • Why Go: Beat cabin fever and warm up with creativity! Work together to create a one-of-a-kind personalized family game complete with game board and game pieces. Participants will be provided with a variety of game ideas and then will tailor choices to their own interests. Open to ages 4 & up with caregiver.
  • Cost: $20 Members/$30 Non-Members

Music of the Civil War Era

  • When:  Sunday, Jan. 27 from 2 - 3:30 p.m.
  • Where: Haverford Township Free Library 1601 Darby Rd, Havertown
  • Why Go: Come out for this interactive musical and interpretive program.  Musicians Joe Becton and Antoine Watts perform and tell stories in 19th century style clothing and equipment.  They will perform styles including spirituals, Underground Railroad songs, minstrel songs, and camp songs on guitar, flute, harmonica and voice.
  • Cost: Free

Cooking Together Cookbook Club

  • When:  Sunday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m.
  • Where: Haverford Township Free Library 1601 Darby Rd, Havertown
  • Why Go: Get into the kitchen with your school-aged kids and be a part of Cooking Together, the newest book club in the Children’s Room. Test a recipe from the selected kids’ cookbook by making it at home and bringing your dish to share.  This program is free and open to the public. Pre-registration, in person at the Children's Room Desk, is required
  • Cost: Free

Trinity's Spaghetti Luncheon

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 27 at Noon
  • Where: Trinity Lutheran Church - Basement Social Hall 1141 W Chester Pike, Havertown
  • Why Go: Trinity’s youth will be hosting a spaghetti luncheon as a fundraiser for the South Dakota Mission Trip. Lunch consists of salad, Italian bread, spaghetti with meat sauce or plain,  and drinks. 
  • Cost: Adults $7.00, Children’s portions $4.00, and Gluten-free $8.00.

Early Education Fair & Sitter Speed Dating

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 27 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
  • Where: Main Line Reform Temple 410 Montgomery Ave, Wynnewood
  • Why Go: Main Line Parent will showcase preschool and kindergarten programs, camps, and educational enrichment programs for children under 6 in a family fun day in Wynnewood. Meet other families and find a babysitter or nanny in a speed session at 2 p.m.  For more information, please see the event listing.
