Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Check out these great local events.

Winter Wonderland and Breakfast With Santa

  • When: Saturday, Dec. 22 from 9 a.m. - Noon
  • Where:
  • Why Go: Bring your family to the CREC for a delicious breakfast with Old St. Nick. After breakfast we'll keep the festival going with music, games, holiday themed crafts and end our day with a "snowball fight".  All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Cost: $12 for breakfast, $12 for Winter Wonderland or $20 for both.  Under 2 free.

Christmas Caroling

  • When: Friday, Dec. 21 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Where: Union United Methodist Church of Havertown 200 Brookline Blvd, Havertown
  • Why Go: On the Friday before Christmas, there will be an opportunity for all to gather and raise our voices with Christmas Carols. Join us in singing, fellowship, hot drinks and cookies!
  • Cost: Free

A Christmas Carol

  • When: Friday, Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Upper Darby Performing Arts Centers, 601 Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill
  • Why Go: Theatreworks USA brings us the timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his midnight visitors who transform him from a selfish old fool to a man of generosity and caring. Tiny Tim and his family share great music and fun for all ages right before Christmas! The show is  one hour and recommended for children ages 6 and up.
  • Cost: $6 - 9

Christmas Cantata

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m.
  • Where:Ardmore United Methodist Church 200 Argyle Rd, Ardmore
  • Why Go: The public is invited to share the joy of the season by joining our Sunday morning worship service at 11:00am.  The Senior Choir will present the Christmas Cantata: "Rejoice: Believers", but John E. Coates. The musical presentation will be a blend of traditional and new Christmas songs and anthems.
  • Cost: Free 

The Nativity Story

  • When: Sunday, Dec. 23 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Where:Six:Eight Community Church 241 E Lancaster Ave, Wynnewood
  • Why Go: Come out for a showing of The Nativity Story.  The movie is a dramatic account of Joseph and Mary, young adults in Nazareth, who learn they are players in a miraculous story. This is the story of their grueling journey to Bethlehem after a government census has ordered them home, and the birth of their son, Jesus.  The event is hosted by Six:Eight Community Church.  Six:Eight will provide cookies, popcorn, snacks, hot cocoa and other treats. All are welcome, including families and children.
