Haverford HS Winter Band Concert

  • When: Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Haverford High School Auditorium
  • Why Go: Don't miss Haverford High's talented musicians in their winter concert on Thursday, January 17, 7:30 p.m. in the HHS auditorium. The Concert Band, Jazz Lab Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and the Symphonic Band will perform.

Magic by Poly

  • Why Go: The Magician Poly is coming to Union United Methodist Church for a free performance. Children, Youth, and Families are welcome to this fun time of magic, trickery, and laughs. Light refreshments will be provided.

What Makes a Great Audiobook?

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m.
  • Where: Haverford Township Free Library 1601 Darby Rd, Havertown
  • Why Go: Come join us as local audiobook reviewer Dan Siegel and narrator Jeannie Stith talk about the craft of making a great audiobook.

Potter Cup 2013

  • When: Friday, Jan. 18 from 2 - 7 p.m.
  • Where: Marple Newtown High School
  • Why Go: The Potter Cup is a challenge between Paxon Hollow Middle School and Haverford Middle School teams. The wrestling team, the boys' basketball team and the girls' basketball team play matches/games against each other to win the coveted Potter Cup. Along with being part of the school spirit and cheering on our teams, students play games, purchase food, and win door prizes all while supporting a worthy cause. Potter Cup is held to raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand. In the 9 years since the Potter Cup began the two schools have contributed over $246,000 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

MLK Birthday Party

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 20 at 3 p.m.
  • Where: Haverford Township Free Library, Community Room
  • Why Go: Please join us for a birthday party for Martin Luther King, Jr. The celebration, hosted by Generous Generations, will include a brief introduction to MLK's life, crafts, story time, and birthday cake! This is our 6th Annual MLK party... the fun and learning gets more exciting every year!  This event is geared toward kids 8 and under, but all are welcome!
