The Media Theatre will hold auditions on Saturday August 17 at 10am for the Children's and Youth Ensemble in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". The musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber is based on the biblical story of Joseph and his brothers and will be produced this holiday season by the professional music theatre company housed at the theatre.
Artistic Director Jesse Cline will hold the auditions along with music director Tom Fosnocht. Ages 6 to 16 are invited to attend, prepared with 32 bars of a song that shows range and is either a pop song or in the style of the show.
The "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" Youth Ensemble will sing several times during the production. The show features well known songs such as "Close Every Door", "Go Go Go Joseph", and "Any Dream Will Do". The inspiring musical is entertaining for all ages.
The Media Theatre's production goes into rehearsal at the end of October and opens the week prior to Thanksgiving week, playing through the first week of January.
The professional music theatre company at The Media Theatre is the winner of six Broadway World Awards for the Philadelphia region, including "Best Theatre Company 2012".
