Books-A-Million Earmarks Share of Sales at Springfield Mall’s KIDS FEST Saturday for Cradles to Crayons

Books-A-Million Earmarks Share of Sales for Cradles to Crayons During Springfield Mall’s KIDS FEST this Saturday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Books-A-Million, the books-and-more store at Springfield Mall, is featuring a Bookfair this Saturday, August 24, and donating a share of its sales to Cradles to Crayons.

The Book-A-Million store carries a large selection of books, Nook tablets, activity books, and toys, along with a selection of bargain books offered at up to 80 percent off regular price – all of which are included in the Cradles to Crayons’ donation program.

Cradles to Crayons addresses the poverty faced by more than one in five children, birth to age 12, in Greater Philadelphia by collecting and providing new and nearly new daily essentials that children need to thrive – at home, at school and at play.

“While the start of a new school year is always an exciting time for Delaware County children and their families,” said Lynne Klingler, general manager of  Books-A-Million’s Springfield Mall store, “we can’t ignore the very sad fact that children from low-income families will start the first grade up to two years behind their peers from moderate- to upper-income households. And while school supplies alone can’t change this,” she added, “having a full backpack – like their peers – will help give these children the confidence they need to start back to school on equal footing. We are proud to support the good work that Cradles to Crayons does in this area.”

The Books-A-Million Bookfair will run concurrent with Springfield Mall’s KIDS FEST this Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., adding a new dimension to the family fun day. Included will be a visit by animals from the Philadelphia Zoo, a concert by Makin' Music, arts and crafts and more.

Books-A-Million is located on the lower level of Springfield Mall, next to Friendly’s.
