Library Fundraiser, Live Music in Havertown Tuesday

Read about some of the things happening in Haverford and Havertown on Tuesday.

1. A portion of sales' proceeds at Oakmont National Pub on Tuesday, August 6 will be donated to the Haverford Township Free Library. From 5 to 9 p.m. let your server know you’re a fan of the library and a portion of the check will be donated to it. You can join the event on Facebook.

2. Circle Time at the Haverford Township Free Library is a 20-minute rhyme and movement intensive program for children of all ages. Circle Time includes nursery rhymes, songs, and fingerplays, Age appropriate books, literacy modeling, and free play with educational toys. This program at 10:15 a.m. is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

3. Haverford College's women's soccer team will kick off its tour of Italy Aug. 6 and includes a pair of friendlies with local competition as the Fords mix in a little soccer with cultural team-building activities. Senior Kylie Reeves will keep team followers up to date of the team's exploits with an online blog.

4. Summer Reading Club Show: Summer Stage Storytellers. The tweens of the Upper Darby Summer Stage Storytellers program will entertain with stories, song, and dance from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

5. Musician Mike Maguire will perform at 8 p.m. on the outdoor deck of Barnaby's in Havertown, 1201 Old West Chester Pike.
