New Math Meeting, Kids' Circus in Haverford Thursday

Read about some of the things happening around Haverford and Havertown Thursday.

1. Haverford Township's Zoning Hearing Board will meet Thursday at 7:45 p.m. at 2325 Darby Road.

2. Check out Circus of the Kids at 7 p.m. in Wynnewood. "Circus of the Kids is a traveling program that has brought its blend of learning, character building, exercise, and just plain fun to 523,000 children in camps, schools, and resorts across the country, challenging children to learn and perform circus acts including trick roller skating, trapeze, juggling, and mini-trampoline," according to Circus of the Kids.

3. The School District of Haverford Township's Board of School Directors will meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Oakmont Board Room, 50 East Eagle Road in Havertown. There will be a public presentation by teachers, administration and board leadership to review the move to Math in Focus.

4. "How to Win an Election in Pennsylvania" Thursday at noon at Merion Cricket Club, 325 Montgomery Avenue in Haverford. The Rotary Club of Ardmore  will be hosting author Hal Gullan who will speak on ”How to win an election in Pennsylvania.” Gullan’s talk will be based on his book, Toomey’s Triumph, which is an inside account of the most compelling senatorial campaign of 2012.

5. Public skate time at the Skatium is 12 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
