Art Opening: "44 Square Feet"

"44 Square," is a group of dedicated and talented artists who want to share their art with the world.  So come, meet and greet and see the splendor for yourself.  The opening reception is Friday, July 13^th at Tyme Gallery from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The reception is catered with  hors d' oeuvres from Antonella's Italian Kitchen in Rosemont and is free to the public.

On Friday July 13^th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm Tyme Gallery is proud to present “44 Square Feet”.   This award winning group of abstract painters have put together a special exhibition of 44 one square foot paintings.  Eleven artists with four one square foot paintings.  The presentation of "44 Square Feet", is the latest collaboration of the eleven-member Abstract Studio Group.  These local artists gather weekly at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, with the goal of creating fine art while enriching and supporting each others' artistic endeavors.  Each member frequently exhibits work in solo and group shows, but they especially enjoy showing their work as a group.

The current members are:  Carol Baca, Trina Brand, Wayne Brown, Rose Marie Cunniffe, Laura Demme, Margaret Getty, Fran House, Lorraine Irwin, Nancy Markezin, Mary McCollum and Kathy McLamb. Carol Baca and Trina Brand are both retired art teachers;  Wayne Brown paints portraits and landscapes and contributes much by his good humor and volunteer work;  Rose Marie Cunniffe is a retired engraver and exhibition volunteer at the Community Art Center;  Laura Demme creates imaginative dolls and also works in clay and cement sculpture;  Margaret Getty is an excellent fiber artist;  Fran House is an antique dealer and a retired fabric designer;  Lorraine Irwin paints watercolor portraits and landscapes; Nancy Markezin is proficient in encaustic work and is an experienced art handler;  Mary McCollum is a color field painter, an expert at combining beautiful colors;  Kathy McLamb frequently works in collage and is a valued Board member at the Community Arts Center.
