I really liked Obama and was happy to
see him win in 2008 because I really believed that he, more than anyone else would
understand the plight of the average America worker that under previous democratic
and republican administrations, was left behind by a status quo mentality of
the elite of this country who continue to ignore the middle class.
Unfortunately, since Obama took office more
than 3 years ago, all that we have seen is a complete turnaround of everything
he said he was going to do as president when he vowed to be the president of
the people. President Obama has been the
complete liberal he was purported to be before the 2008 presidential elections instead
of being the middle-of-the-road president he campaigned for and won.
Obama umbrella-type social agenda for
this country of the past three plus years makes even Lyndon Johnson’s “Great
Society” and Franklin Roosevelt’s vast government expansion of the 1930’s, minor
undertakings. Obama has literally given away America and
must not be reelected in 2012 because he has been a president of failure, an
anemic president unworthy of the office he holds.
Obama has failed the America people
where it counts the most, their pockets.
After more than three years as president, our economy is still reeling
and is in disarray, unemployment is still hovering above 8%, budget deficits keep
rising exponentially, heath care costs continue to rise, jobs are still leaving
this country, taxes are choking most Americans and all that Obama wants to do
is to raise taxes on small businesses and corporations; the same entities that
through their initiative and motivation factor create the wealth of this
country.
What is going on? Why are the American people, buying this nonsense
by a president who speak well without delivering anything. His economic programs have been a failure,
his policies destructive and his promises empty. Obama Care that was supposed to bring down health
care costs has actually accomplished the reverse. In its present form, Obama Care is a failed
program and if it is left intact, will derail this country’s economy to the depths of despair for many years to
come. Yes, another
four years of an Obama’s presidency will create a worldwide economic depression
unseen since the great depression of the 1930’s.
It is to say the least, a scary thought
for a country that for decades provided the American people the highest
standard of living among all the industrialized nations of the world. Today, for the first time in nation’s history
future generations of Americans will not have a better tomorrow like many of us
who always looked to the future for a better life and a prosperous tomorrow. Today’s
children will not be as lucky as we were when we always knew that tomorrow would
bring a brighter day.
This is not what America should settle
for. This is not what I settle for when I
came to this country so many years ago. Back
then, I knew and expected that with hard work, I would achieve my American dream
and be able to have a “tiny piece of that American pie.” Today, the same cannot be said for my
children and grand children.
It is, a sad, sad commentary for the
United States of America, the country my father used to call, the land of honey
and opportunity for all.

I see no specifics to any of your claims? I respect conservative values but you have not backed up any of your claims with true statistics. This sounds like the same old conservative talking points that give no clarity to your statements, thus reducing this to just an opinion column. I just want to point out that during the "great recession" America lost 4,317,000 TOTAL jobs. Since 2010 America has regained 3,765,000 jobs. the net difference is 552,000 jobs still unaccounted for. then we had Congress holding up the deficit limit and Europe went nutty causing the recession to stop recovering. Lets also not forget why we lost those jobs so as to not make the same mistakes.
As far as taxes go, I recommend people look at http://www.factcheck.org/2012/05/a-bogus-tax-attack-against-obama/.
I am no fan of Obamacare, but if it is repealed expect costs to go even higher if nothing else is done and we have no reason to believe anyone else will do anything about that.

Brendan, we are heading twd depression & in a socialist regime to boot. One can't intelligently defend the record of the Obama. It makes no sense! The numbers speak for themselves and cannot be hidden or skewed. His record shows it is one of complete & total failure. This is why democrats are grasping at straws to uphold this president, and simply said, there is something that appeals to liberals on a personal level about him. Maybe it's his 'regular Joe' persona they still buy into, I don't know, but focusing on Medicare (a/k/a MediSCARE), Romney's tax return, and what kind of underwear Mormons wear but keeping their eyes off the real suffering going on in America, i.e., unless we are one of the millions unable to find a job, or are so underemployed they are either at the poverty level or close to it, and/or have had their homes re-possessed. The problem of illegal aliens is crushing us, but this president seems to have their interests at heart more than those who are legal. There is no way Medicare can survive under the current administration, it will crash and burn as it is, & liberals believe that obama will save Medicare and he cares about the little people-46 million people on food stamps, the highest poverty rate in 50 yrs., first in history credit downgrade, Fast &Furious, 5.3 Trillion record spending, security leaks. This presidency will change the legacy of the past, i.e., leaving your children better off than you were. SAD, so very sad.

I am an independent. Im willing to consider Romney. Can you tell me what policies Romney will impose that will help in the immediate future? I am having trouble finding these out. (not trying to be snarky, just honest). Simply telling me that O sucks doesn't make me believe it will get better under Romney. Alot of us Independents remember Paulson and Bush in 2008 telling us to bail out the Banks or we will explode. I still think it wouldn't have happened.

I suggest we all turn off our TVs and try to get in touch with the Business pages of our local journals. The economy is improving - slowly, but getting better. Home sales are inceasing, employers have ben hiring, people have started to look for work again. Medicare is actually on better footing with Affordable health since folks have been added to the rolls and costs for service negotiated down. More oil wells have been approved and are opened than since 2003.
I'm just not seeing how the administration should not be awarded another term.

Remember when Obama took office, he had to work hard at cleaning up the mess that the last republican president made? oh im sorry, we forgot about that one!
