Top Ten Holiday Events To Enjoy

The holiday season brings out the fun!

 

With the holiday season in full swing, there is a lot to do in Haverford Township and the surrounding areas.

These events will surely get you into the holiday spirit. So, in no particular order, let the festivities begin!

1. The Main Line Art Center will be featuring its Holiday Fine Art Sale, which showcases an amazing assortment of unique, handmade jewelry, and more. It's on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 746 Panmure Rd, Haverford. http://www.mainlineart.org/event_detail.php?id=64 s

2. The Delaware County FOP Lodge 27 will feature its annual Christmas Talent Show. It will be at Ridley Township Community Center at 801 Morton Ave., Folsom, PA, at Wednesday, Dec. 15 and Thursday, Dec. 16, both shows are from 5:30 to 8 p.m. For more information and tickets, call 1-800-597-3616 http://www.fop27.org/xmashow.htm

3. Narberth Dickens Festival features street performers, music, and food as Narberth is turned into 1840's London. The festival is at Forrest Ave & Haverford avenues, Narberth.  Saturday, Dec. 18, from 12 until 4 p.m.

4. Come see the Philadelphia Boys Choir Holiday Concert! The Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale will be performing on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 8 p.m., at the Proclamation Presbyterian Church, 278 S. Bryn Mawr Ave., Bryn Mawr.

5. The Hope United Methodist Church will be hosting a Christmas Luncheon/Party at the Thomas Hall after Worship. Santa Claus will visit children with early presents. Any monetary donations are welcome by Santa's helper to help defray the cost of gifts. The party will be at Sunday, Dec. 19.  http://havhopeumc.org

6. There will be a Winter Solstice Walk at Parkview Road, Havertown, on Sunday, Dec. 19, from 3:30 until 5 p.m. The Recreation Department event will include a walk in the meadow, holiday songs and hot chocolate. There is a $3 registration fee. The Recreation Department prefers if you register in advance at their office at 599 Glendale Rd., Havertown, but you can register at the start of the walk. 7. There will be Christmas Caroling at the Union United Methodist Church of Havertown, 200 Brookline Blvd, Havertown, PA 19083 on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 5: 30 p.m.

8.  The Peace Center of Delaware County will be having a Holiday Peace Potluck Supper and Program on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m. For more information, go to: http://www.delcopeacecenter.org

9. Come and enjoy Advent Carols at St. James United Church of Christ, 135 Myrtle Ave, Havertown. It will be at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19.

10. Enjoy some classical Christmas Eve Caroling at the Haverford Friends Meeting, 855 Buck Lane, Haverford. The caroling starts at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 24.
