Kettle, a new breakfast-and-lunch spot in Havertown, opened its doors Tuesday morning on Brookline Boulevard. The location was formerly occupied by Brookline Pizza.

"We couldn't have asked for a better opening day," said Sarah Brautigan, who owns the restaurant with her brother, Danny Quinn. Brautigan said there were at least 35 patrons—the seating capacity—in the restaurant from the time it opened at 6 a.m.

Haverford-Havertown Patch stopped in around 2:45 p.m., when things had begun to calm down, to see how the first day went and snap some photos of the new restaurant.

Also peaking in just before closing time was crossing guard Lois Adams, who had previously stopped in for breakfast and lunch.

"You didn't get a break all day!" she said to Brautigan, having witnessed the steady flow of customers from her station just outside the door.

Executive Chef James Reeves described Kettle's opening day as "beautiful."

"It's been a long time coming, a long process," Reeves said. "Today, we're rocking it."

Shouldn't the headline say "breakfast and lunch?"
