Another Rita's Could Come to Havertown

The township zoning board is continuing a hearing that could bring the restaurant to town.

A Rita's could be coming to Havertown

Ronald and Denise Calvy and Thomas and Ann Esposito, the lessees of 500 West Chester Pike, appeared before the township's zoning board in October to seek a special exception that would allow them to bring in a fast food / take out restaurant, specifically a Rita's Water Ice, to the location.

In addition to the special exception, the group sought variances to allow for off-street parking.

The zoning board voted to continue the hearing at its subsequent meetings.

A Rita's is already in Havertown, on Eagle Rd. What would a new West Chester Pike Rita's do to the older Eagle Road Rita's business? Same owners or different ones?

I really don't think we need another Rita's. I am so happy to see places opening like the Edgewood Cafe, The Kettle, Crossbar, etc. We need a restaurant that has both family but later in the evening food and drink for the adults of Havertown.

Agreed. We have Pops, Rita's, Kuaffmeyers, the new frozen yogurt place on Darby. The last thing we need is more of the same.

Why would anyone object to making something from nothing. This location has been vacant for years! I wish the new owners best wishes. I will be in line the first day you open.
