Police: Texting Driver Causes Accident

No one was injured in the accident.

The Haverford Township Police said that the driver of a four-door Toyota was texting on a cell phone before the car flipped through the air and was overturned after hitting a Pontiac Vibe trying to turn into the GoodYear store on Township Line Road Monday afternoon.

Police said that while it is still an ongoing investigation, no one was injured in the two-car accident, but did say that the driver of the Toyota was texting. The driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, but was OK, the police said. The accident happen at around 3 p.m.

The driver of the Pontiac, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Haverford-Havertown Patch that he was OK, but a little shaken up.

He said that he was on the westbound lane of Township Line Road and was about to pull into the Goodyear store when the accident happened.

"I heard a noise and then saw a car up in the air," said eyewitness and owner of the GoodYear Tim Shook.

The Llanerch Fire Co. was on the scene to help with the clean up.

Both cars were towed away.
