One of Haverford's Coolest Jobs

Its name sounds like a pasta dish, but it's way too big to put on a plate.

It's the unsung hero of the rink at Haverford's Skatium. This week Haverford Township Commissioners approved the purchase of its replacement, a new $99,284 Zamboni Machine.

What exactly is a Zamboni?

Click on the video to see the machine, that scrapes off the scraped-up old ice surface and puts down a smooth new one, in action

For a look at more of the behind the scenes jobs that keep the skatium on smooth ice check out CBS3 Meteorologist Katie Fhelinger's "Do My Job" report on CBSPhilly.com.
