No Service Interruptions For High Speed Line

PECO said that the repair of a utility pole and a power line that caused two small brush fires should not impact commuters.

Havertown residents who use the Norristown High Speed Line at the Beechwood-Brookline Station should not experience any delays as crews set to begin to repair a power line and a utility pole that were damaged after the line fell and caused two small brush fires, according to a PECO spokeswoman.

A power line fell and started two fires late Monday night, which were eventually put out by the Brookline Fire Co. after PECO cut the power to the 34,000-volt line.

One of the fires damaged a utility pole that will need to be replaced, said PECO Communications Specialist Liz Williamson.

She said that PECO and SEPTA will coordinate a work schedule for repairs, but said that it would not affect commuters.

Services of the high speed line will not be interrupted during repairs and PECO customers did not experience any power outages when the power was cut in the area surrounding the station so firefighters could safely put the fire out, Williamson said.
