There will be no extended hours for the Havertown post office, but check out these helpful tips.

With tax day here, there are some who maybe running a bit behind and might need a little help in making sure they are sending everything off to Uncle Sam.

told the Haverford-Havertown Patch that its operating hours would be normal for Tuesday, where it will close its doors at 4:30 p.m.

Taxpayers must send 2011 returns postmarked Tuesday or earlier to avoid late fees.

However Tad Kelley, a spokesman for the post office, gave some more information for those who might need a little last-minute help:

  • For those who wish to have an extension should fill out the 4868 form, which accompanies this article as a PDF.
  • Make sure you mail what you need early in the day to avoid any possible long lines.
  • Double check the address on your envelopes and make sure your return address is on them as well.
  • Make sure that you have the right amount of stamps or postage before mailing everything out.
