Moms Restaurant Roundup: Frankie's Cafe to Silver Spoon
Patch reviews Frankie's Cafe, Primavera Pizza Kitchen, Hope's Cookies, Roller's at Flying Fish, New Lee Garden, Lotus Farm to Table, New Imperial Chinese Take-Out, Le Petit Mitron, Mango Moon and Silver Spoon
Looking for a restaurant that is family friendly? This week, Haverford-Havertown Patch reviewed Frankie’s Cafe on how kid-friendly it is. Though the downstairs bar area is considered a dive by many, the upstairs dining room is clean and bright. Many of their menu items can be made kid-size if you just ask (e.g. chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers). Click here for the review.
This weekend, Patch has reviews of restaurants around the area. Find out which ones have kids’ menus and which ones are paying the most attention to food allergies.
Primavera Pizza Kitchen: 7 East Lancaster Avenue Ardmore, PA 19003
Bruschetta, spaghetti and meatballs may be just the ticket for your little ones but make sure they’re on their best behavior at this restaurant more geared towards grown-ups. Click here for the review.
Hope’s Cookies: 1125 East Lancaster Avenue Bryn Mawr, PA 19010
Cookies are the tip of the iceberg at this sweet haven. For moms that are watching what their kids eat, the frozen yogurt and fat free milkshakes offer a change of pace from the fat-laden offerings of other places. Click here for the review.
Roller’s at Flying Fish: 8142 Germantown Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19118
While there is no official kids menu, the abundance of fish is a boon for healthy eating. If fish isn’t going to cut it, there is an excellent turkey meatloaf. Click here for the review.
New Lee Garden: Lawrence Park Shopping Center Broomall, PA 19008
There’s a surprising amount of healthy offerings at this strip mall Chinese restaurant. If brown rice and steamed vegetables aren’t that exciting for your kids, you can always rely on egg rolls, wonton soup and sweet and sour chicken. Click here for the review.
Lotus Farm to Table: 112 West State Street Media, PA 19063
A friendly and accommodating establishment that prides itself on farm-to table dining and can adjust menu items according to your specialized diet (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.). Click here for the review.
New Imperial Chinese Take-Out: 7134 Germantown Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19119
A strictly take-out joint that also delivers. This could be your solution when you don’t have time to make dinner. Just make sure to leave plenty of time for delivery, the service isn’t all that fast. Click here for the review.
Le Petit Mitron: 207 Haverford Avenue Narberth, PA 19072
Well prepared, freshly baked items made in the French tradition are offered here. The inventory changes daily and they have gluten-free items to boot. Stop in with your kids, they’ll get a real big kick out of the gorgeous pastries and marzipan animals. Click here for the review.
Mango Moon: 4161 Main Street Philadelphia, PA 19127
An ideal place for date night with your loved one, this place has delicious Thai food, dim lighting and Asian ambiance. The only caveat is that those with severe nut allergies may not be the safest here. Click here for the review.
Silver Spoon: 503 West Lancaster Avenue Wayne, PA 19087
Grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese and even some caramelized pepper bacon are indeed kid-friendly but not the most heart healthy. The sandwiches and salads on the regular menu are better for that. Click here for the review.
