Kids' Show That Filmed In Havertown Airs

Most of Havertown will be featured in the show.

The PBS program The Super Sproutlet Show, which was filmed in , has finally aired.

Rebecca Owens, a publicist of PBS KIDS Sprout, explained to the Haverford-Havertown Patch that 70 percent of the show—which is a two-hour block of programming to help young children recognize the importance of eating healthy and exercising—was filmed in Havertown.

The Super Sproutlet Show is a spinoff of LazyTown, another PBS show that originally aired from 2004 until 2007.

The new show features the character Bean, played by Catherine Missal. Bean’s job is to ride around in her bicycle Bean pod everyday in search of preschoolers—better known in the show as Super Sproutlets—“being super active, healthy and kind to the Earth.”

“Sportacus (a superhero from LazyTown) flies his airship over towns all across the country to find Sproutlets who are living healthy lifestyles, while Bean, a 12-year-old, blue-haired, spunky ‘superhero in training’ seeks out these Sproutlets with her ‘Sprout Spotter’ watch,’” a press release of the show stated. “She surprises Sproutlets who are being ‘super’ with capes, crowns and shields only a Super Sproutlet can wear. During all of her adventures, she checks in with both Sportacus and the Mayor of LazyTown, Mayor Meanswell.”
